The Founder
Meet Marion Karimi, the compassionate and resilient headmaster of Hoface International School. Marion’s journey began in Meru county, Kenya, where she grew up in a polygamous family and witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by her late brother, who had autism, and other family members with disabilities. Despite facing stigma and mistreatment from their community, Marion’s love for her brother inspired her to dedicate her life to helping children with special needs.
Marion’s childhood was marked by adversity, including instances of locking her hyperactive brother in a dark toilet room and enduring physical abuse from her father for showing him compassion. Despite these hardships, Marion remained determined to advocate for those with disabilities and pursued studies in special education.
Her passion for helping children with special needs led her to establish Hope and Faith Home for Special Needs Children in 2005, providing a safe and nurturing environment for vulnerable children in the community. Marion’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity and compassion drives her work as the headmaster of Hoface International School, where she continues to empower students with diverse learning needs to reach their fullest potential.
Marion’s story is a testament to the transformative power of empathy, forgiveness, and resilience. Through her leadership and dedication, she is making a profound impact on the lives of children with special needs and fostering a culture of acceptance and support within her community.
